Hey Everyone! My name is Gian Polignano, and I am
the Head Coach at Inverness Forest for the 2008 swim season.
Each coach will have specific
responsibilities and roles which they will be expected to fill. We are all
strong believers in the respect that must exist in the triangular
relationship of coach/parent/swimmer.
Our coaching team will be as follows:
Gian Polignano (Head Coach)
Bryan Hsu (Assistant Head Coach)
Julia Anstadt (Head Developmental Coach)
Meagan Gatti (Assistant Coach)
Sara Dragacevac (Assistant Coach).
I'm thrilled to have Bryan back this summer and feel that our coaching
philosophies mesh well. This staff has depth and experience and that will
only serve for the best instruction and communication for both you and your
child. All coaches have deep experience in both summer league and club
swimming, and have managed and taught athletes.
Everything we want to do will be geared at bringing
the team together as one cohesive unit...swimmers, parents, and coaches. We
want this summer to be dynamic, not just for the swimmers but for parents as
well. To create the dynamic environment requires putting in a bit of
effort, but the dividends will be immense and your child will truly have a
unique experience.
I wouldn't be looking forward to summer so much if I didn't feel like I had
a great group of coaches to work with. Building a strong ethos of team
pride and fun takes work, effort, and the right people. We have the pieces
in place to make this not just talk, but reality.

Hello Inverness Families,
My name is Julia Anstadt and I will be the Head Developmental Coach for the
2008 season. I am currently a junior at American University where I am on
the varsity swim team and majoring in visual media with a minor in graphic
design.
I grew up swimming summer league and age group in Burlington, VT. During my
ten years on the Burlington Country Club (my summer old summer league team)
we had numerous undefeated seasons and I hope to help lead the Nessies to
the same success.
As a breaststroker and sprint freestyler on the AU swim team I have had some
great personal success. Every year I have been on the team so far I have
been a scorer at our conference championship. This past year I was given the
opportunity to travel to Spain and compete for American on an international
level.
I am looking forward to coaching with the Nessies this summer. The other
coaches and I have already started planning some fun events for this season.
It should be a really great summer and I can't wait for the first day of
practice! Again I can't wait to meet everyone this summer.
Julia Anstadt

Hello Inverness Forest families,
My name is
Meagan Gatti and I am excited to be apart of the Inverness Nessies' coaching
staff for the upcoming 2008 MCSL season. Gian Polignano, the other
assistant coaches, and I have already begun planning an amazing summer
season, I hope you and your children are just as excited as we are for the
pool to open. I thought that I would take this time to share a little bit
of information about myself.
Last June
(2007), I graduated from Georgetown Visitation, where I was a member of the
varsity swim team all four years. During my last two years on the team, I
swam under former Nessie Head Coach, Josh Menditch. Over those four years,
I qualified and swam in meets such as Metros, National Catholic Champs,
WMPSSDLS, and ISLs.
I have a long
history of swimming for MCSL. I was a member of the Garrett Park Ladybugs
from 1993-1996 and of the Tilden Woods Dolphins from 1997-2007. At Tilden
Woods, I volunteered, working with the pre-team for several summers. My
many experiences at Tilden Woods have certainly given me a sense of
enthusiasm for the summer swimming season. Although I am sad not to return
as a member of Tilden Woods' team, I am excited to continue my involvement
with MCSL as a Nessie assistant coach.
In addition to
swimming for Visitation and Tilden Woods, I swam at the Aquahoya Swim Club
under Kirby Weldon, Jon Rogers, and Joe Rogers from 2003-2007. Prior to
this experience, I swam for the Curl Burke Swim Club from 2000-2003, where
Nessie Head Coach Gian Polignano was one of my coaches.
I am currently
a freshman nursing major at Villanova University in Pennsylvania.
Currently, I am enjoying the more relaxed pace of the University's club swim
team. I believe that my long history of dedication to swimming has provided
me with a strong sense of the sport. I am excited to meet all of you in
only a few short weeks!
Meagan Gatti
